KUALA LUMPUR: Eight vice dens were demolished by Kuala Lumpur City Hall Wednesday in a joint operation against brothels in the Brickfields area.
City Hall head of enforcement, Minhad Ahmad, said the operations which started at about noon also involved personnel from the Kuala Lumpur police contigent, immigration and national registration departments.
“The raiding party altogether checked nine premises and found only eight of them operating. There are premises which operate only when there is demand for sex services from clients,” he told reporters at the scene.
He said the action to demolish the premises was one of the measures to reduce vice actvities in and around Brickfields.
