WOMEN are soaring in the wealth league, with more than 100 on the Sunday Times Rich List for the first time.
One in ten of Britain’s 1,000 wealthiest people are female, with £6.9billion pharmaceuticals boss Kirsty Bertarelli, 39 – an ex-Miss UK – the richest, at number five overall.
The women include divorce winners like F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone’s ex Slavia on £734million – and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich’s ex Irina on £155million.
Go Compare tycoon Hayley Parsons, 37, is a new entry – on £95million.
The list, with 73 billionaires, is topped for the seventh year by Indian steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal, 60, worth £17.5billion.
Russian steel magnate Alisher Usmanov, 57, is second on £12.4billion, with Abramovich, 44, third on £10.3billion. He is followed by the Duke of Westminster, 59, on £7billion. In all, the 1,000 are worth £396billion.
